*Title: Some Recent Progress on Non-Abelian Chern--Simons--Higgs Vortex 
Equations*

*Abstract: In this talk some recent progress on non-Abelian 
Chern--Simons--Higgs vortex equations will be presented. *
*First, we  will review the classical Abelian Higgs and 
Chern--Simons--Higgs model, and the related elliptic pdes with related 
results. *
*Second, we recall the non-abelian  Chern--Simons--Higgs vortex 
equations and report an existence theorem with a sketch of proof. *
*At last, we mention some related problems and open questions**
