Chern--Simons--Higgs Vortex Equations</b></div>

<div><b>Abstract: In this talk some recent progress on non-Abelian
Chern--Simons--Higgs vortex equations will be presented. </b></div>
<div><b>First, we will review the classical Abelian Higgs and
Chern--Simons--Higgs model, and the related elliptic pdes with
related results. </b></div>
<div><b>Second, we recall the non-abelian Chern--Simons--Higgs
vortex equations and report an existence theorem with a sketch
of proof. </b></div>
<b>At last, we mention some related problems and open questions</b><b><br>
