Abstract:

We study nearest- and next-to-nearest neighhbour systems of binary lattice interactions via Gamma-convergence, showing the appearance of phase and anti-phase boundaries. We explicitly compute the Gamma-limit, whose form highlights anisotropies and entails sharp and `diffuse' discrete interfaces.
