This workshop aims to explore the connections between the theory of classical minimal surfaces and recent developments in fractional minimal surfaces and nonlocal interaction energies. Through two mini-courses and six talks, the event will provide an opportunity for exchange between experts working with traditional approaches and researchers engaged in recent innovations coming from the approximation of minimal surfaces with nonlocal energies. The main topics will include geometric measure theory, nonlocal partial differential equations, and the applications of these techniques to the aforementioned topics. Special attention will be paid to variational methods, regularity properties, and singularity theory, both in the classical and nonlocal context.
