Abstract:
There are several ways to mathematically define quasicrystalline patterns. We adopt the ``cut and project'' approach, where a quasicrystal consists of the projection of a `stripe' of a higher-dimensional periodic pattern. We consider ferromagnetic energies in this stripe and prove that they can be approximated by an interfacial energy in the limit as the lattice spacing goes to zero.
