Abstract.
Certain Riemannian ambient spaces carry natural calibrating forms, leading to area-minimizing submanifolds of particular geometric interest. I will introduce the case of Cn (more generally, Calabi-Yau manifolds) and the corresponding calibrated submanifolds (Special Lagrangian -SL). I will present recent gluing constructions for SL submanifolds paying particular attention to the analytic (rather than geometric) aspects of the problem.
