title: Boundary value problems for hyperbolic systems with variable multiplicity

abstract: The analysis of hyperbolic boundary value problem is well understood in two cases. First, Friedriech theory applies to symmetric systems and dissipative boundary conditions. Second, Kreiss theory applies to general boundary condition satisfying the (almost necessary and sufficient) Lopatinski condition and hyperbolic systems satisfying extra conditions such as constant multiplicity. The purpose of the talk is to explain how this assumption can be slightly relaxed, aiming applications to the stability analysis of shocks and viscous shock profiles for magneto-hydrodynamics.
