Candidates should have interest in developing a research program in the field of Calculus of Variations and Optimal Transport. Experience or interest in mathematical aspects of quantum mechanics is also highly desirable, but not mandatory.

Interested candidates are invited to express the interest for the position by sending an e-mail at the address CRCAIMathChe@uottawa.ca. The email, with subject “PhD Application 2025” should include the following documents as attachments in a single pdf file:

1) CV with (possibly) list of publications;
2) Evaluations of university exams;
3) Motivation letter and research interests, for instance a short description of the master thesis and research directions (max 2 pages);
4) A list of at most three referees, willing to write a letter of recommendation.

Applications will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis until December 31st, 2024. Selected candidates will be interviews by Zoom. The official application must be sent directly to the University of Ottawa via the Ontario Universities Application centre before February 1st.
