We invite expressions of interest for a two-year postdoctoral position at the Mathematics Department of the University of Padova (Italy), funded by the STARS Starting Grant 2023 New Directions in Fractional Calculus - NewFrac. The appointment will be under the supervision of Giorgio Stefani and will be based on exceptional scientific contributions and outstanding research potential.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in one or more areas related to the project, including Geometric Measure Theory, Functional Analysis, Calculus of Variations, or PDE Theory. The position offers a competitive salary of approximately 2,000 euros per month (after taxes), including social security and medical insurance. The salary is considered competitive given the cost of living in Padova. The appointment is expected to start no later than March 1st, 2025, with no compulsory teaching duties and substantial travel funds, providing an ideal research environment. Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. before the start of the contract.

This call for interest is preliminary. The official hiring process will begin between the end of 2024 and the start of 2025.
