Expression of interest are invited for two post-doctoral positions at MaLGa center in University of Genova, under the AFOSR program ARIA-ML.
The deadline for the expression of interest is 30 December 2022.
The position will begin not before March 1st 2023

1) One position is in the Mathematics of Machine Learning. The research themes include optimization methods for machine learning, optimal transport, deep learning methods solving high-dimensional (and possibly infinite-dimensional) partial differential equations. A prior experience in analysis or machine learning is more than welcome. The position is in collaboration with Augusto Gerolin (uOttawa), and it will start as soon as possible: the duration is 2 years, where the first year will be in Genoa and the second year in Ottawa, but this is flexible. 2) The other position is on Optimization for Machine Learning. The research themes include zeroth-order optimization, PDE approach to non-convex optimization, optimal transport and implicit regularization. A prior experience in optimization is more than welcome. The position starts as soon as possible, but this is flexible. The duration of the contract is 1 year, renewable for up to 2 years.
