The Research Group ''Analysis and PDEs'' at the University of Heidelberg invites applications for a postdoctoral position within the DFG Priority Program 2256 for a duration of three years. The position comes with a salary in the German pay scale group TV-L E13 and is without any teaching duties.

The postdoctoral position is within the DFG Project RU 2049$/$1-1 in the group of Professor Angkana RĂ¼land. The project focuses on the analysis of ''wild microstructures'' in shape-memory alloys, their rigidity and flexibility properties. The successful candidate will carry out research on microstructures in shape-memory materials as outlined in the DFG project. The incumbent will particularly work on the analysis of scaling laws for elastic and surface energies describing relevant phase transformations in martensitic materials.

Applicants should hold a PhD in mathematics with some background in

- the calculus of variations,

- and$/$or the analysis of PDEs.

The starting date is flexible, ideally in the fall of 2020.

Please send your application documents (including a CV, a list of publications, a transcript of your PhD certificate, a research statement, and the names and contact data of two referees willing to write a letter of recommendation) to
