Postdoctoral Position (Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin - Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter)

Salary Level E 13 TV-L, 100 %

This fixed-term position is available from the earliest possible date. The initial appointment is for two years with the possibility of a prolongation by another year.

Currently, the regular working time for full employment is 39 hours and 50 minutes per week. All posts can, as a rule, also be filled as part-time positions if there are no compelling work-related reasons against doing so.

The successful candidate is expected to join the research activities in the Calculus of Variations group at the Institute for Analysis and Numerics (Prof. M. Friedrich). Teaching load is 4 hours per week during lecture time.

Applicants should have (or be close to obtain) a PhD in Mathematics or related areas, as well as a strong background in analysis, in particular in areas such as the calculus of variations, partial differential equations, or mathematical continuum mechanics.
