The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Bath is inviting applications for a Lectureship in Mathematics to extend and broaden its strength in pure mathematics.

The Department has particular strengths in Algebra, Analysis and Geometry (including Algebraic Geometry, Calculus of Variations, Differential Geometry, Geometric Analysis, Group Theory, Harmonic Analysis, PDEs, Operator Theory and Representation Theory) with a strong tradition of interdisciplinary links with applications.

We are seeking applicants with a developing track record of independent research of international standing, strengthening existing departmental research areas and (or) expanding our research into neighbouring mathematical fields such as (Algebraic or Analytic) Number Theory and Topology.

The appointee will be expected to sustain a leading research programme, and to be active in developing and submitting competitive applications for external funding, as well as toshare fully in the life of and responsibilities within the Department.

Candidates should also have a strong interest in pursuing excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and in supervising graduate students.
