starting in March 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment is limited to three years and no teaching duties are implied. The successful candidate will join the Research Group on Applied Mathematics and Modeling at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna led by Ulisse Stefanelli.

The position is financed via the FWF-GACR Joint International Project 'Variational structures in thermomechanics of solids', which is run in coordination with a research team in Prague. The successful candidate will join the research activities of the Group and contribute to the development of the project. The position is associated with the enrolment in the PhD program in Mathematics at the University of Vienna.

Applicants for the PhD-student position must hold a Master in Mathematics or Physics and have some background in applied analysis and continuum mechanics.
