Deadline: 25 jun 2026
A call for two postdoctoral positions within FIS project GEMS is now open.
Essential information (for more details, see the link below):
- Candidates: This position is intended for young researchers (candidates must have obtained their Master’s degree within the last 6 years). The ideal candidate should possess a strong track record and expertise in elliptic PDEs and the Calculus of Variations, preferably with experience in vectorial problems or problems involving degenerate ellipticity. While deep prior knowledge of the specific tools used in the project is not required, the candidate must demonstrate interest in developing expertise in these areas;
- Duration, conditions and salary: both positions are for 24 months (renewable), with no teaching duties and with a salary of approximately 2100 euros per month (paid in 12 months);
- About the project: Project GEMS studies solutions to PDEs, focusing on stationary points of polyconvex integrands and equations with degenerate ellipticity, such as the p-Laplacian. Using differential inclusions, the project investigates both rigidity phenomena, which ensure regularity, and flexibility scenarios characterized by convex integration. The goal is to refine tools to address problems at the crossroads of elliptic PDEs, Calculus of Variations, and Geometric Measure Theory.
