We would like to draw your attention to the open call for a Ph.D. position at the University of Vienna within the FWF Stand-Alone Project PAT1111025 "Interface evolution driven by curvature and related problems". The main topics will be area preserving networks, curvature evolution of networks and minimizing movements for mean curvature flows. The student will be supervised by Dr. Shokhrukh Kholmatov and co-supervised by Prof. Giovanni Bellettini and Prof. Matteo Novaga.
Ideal candidates would have a strong background in calculus of variations, geometric measure theory and nonlinear evolution equations.
The starting date for the positions is as soon as possible and no later than September 2026. The position is intended for 3 years with possible extension for 6 months, starting as soon as possible and no later than September 2026.
The candidates must have (or be close to obtaining) a master's degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics and provide a detailed CV and a short description of current scientific interests, together with two reference letters.
