Applications are invited for a 24-month postdoctoral research position at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, within ERC Starting Grant "MAGNETIC". The successful candidate, upon accepting the offer, will work with the P.I. Alessandro Pigati and other members of the research team.

This grant focuses on the calculus of variations of the area and in particular on the construction and regularity of critical points (carried by parametrized objects, limit level sets of solutions of physically relevant PDEs, etc.), but more generally the interests of the research group lie in geometric measure theory, calculus of variations, and geometric analysis in general.

The position carries no teaching duties.

The (gross) compensation will be between € 40K and € 46K per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

The expected start date is September 1, 2026 (flexible).

We encourage applications from candidates with a solid background in geometric measure theory and elliptic PDEs, and interests aligning with those described above.
