3 postdoctoral research positions in GMT / Geometric Analysis at the University of Milan

Applications are invited for 3 postdoctoral positions (Contratti di Ricerca) in GMT and Geometric Analysis at the Department of Mathematics "Federigo Enriques", University of Milan.
The positions are funded by the FIS 2 Starting Grant "SiGmA" (Singularities in Geometric Analysis: Minimal Surfaces and Mean Curvature Flows), led by Prof. Salvatore Stuvard.
The successful candidates will work on problems at the intersection of Geometric Analysis, Geometric Measure Theory, and the Calculus of Variations. Specific research topics include:
- Regularity theory for minimal surfaces and their singular sets;
- Weak notions of Mean Curvature Flow and flow through singularities;
- Parabolic and elliptic PDEs related to geometry.
Each position is for 2 years, extendable to a maximum of 3 years. The starting date is after February 1st 2026, with some flexibility until September 2026. The salary is highly competitive, corresponding to the salary of a full-time confirmed researcher in Italy.
The grant provides generous travel support and funding for visiting periods in Italy and abroad.
You will be given time to study, develop your research skills, and form your own research program. You will not have teaching duties, but you will have the opportunity, if desired, to teach a graduate level course within the Graduate School in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Milan.
You do not need a Ph.D. to apply, but you must be enrolled in (at least) your third year and be expected to complete your Ph.D. within the next 6 months.
