Lunedi' 17/12 ore 16-19
Martedi' 18/12 ore 9-11
Mercoledi' 19/12 ore 9-11
Giovedi' 20/12 ore 10-13
Tutti gli interessati sono invitati a partecipare.
Cordiali saluti,
Pierpaolo Esposito

Summary: This course treats gluing techniques to treat singular
perturbation elliptic problems. The problem addressed is that of
constructing families of solutions, dependent on a parameter involved
in the equation, which in the limit it exhibits a form of
concentration behavior on a lower dimensional
object. The idea is to reduce the problem of construction to a finite
or infinite-dimensional variational problem for the limiting
concentration object, by means of a form of Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction.
We will illustrate this method by applying it to some equations
classical in the literature
1. The weighted Allen Cahn equation: Construction of solutions with a
transition layer in the one-dimensional case.
2. The case of the stationary NLS in the one dimensional cases:
extension to higher dimensions for point concentration.
3. The weighted Allen Cahn equation: Construction of solutions with a
transition layer on a curve in the two-dimensional case.
4. Point concentration in NLS and Liouville type equations.
