FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT - NONLINEAR HYPERBOLIC PDEs, DISPERSIVE
AND TRANSPORT EQUATIONS: ANALYSIS AND CONTROL
Trieste - Italy
May 16 - July 22, 2011

Dear Colleague,

We are pleased to announce a trimester program on Hyperbolic PDEs,
Dispersive and Transport Equations, that will take place at SISSA-ISAS,
Trieste (Italy), from May 16th through July 22nd, 2011.

AIM AND SCOPE: The trimester aims to provide a broad introduction and
an up-to-date overview of the status and perspectives for some of the
most vital areas of research in partial differential equations, as
nonlinear hyperbolic PDEs, transport equations, dispersive equations.
It is organized in a series of courses (on a week basis), a workshop and
a conclusive conference.
There will be also some sessions of communications by young faculty
and Post-Doctoral researchers. Participation of Postdocs and PhD
students is strongly encouraged.

PROGRAM: The courses (of about 6 hours each) will be delivered by:

Yann BRENIER (Université de Nice, France)
Peter CONSTANTIN (University of Chicago, USA)
Jean-Michel CORON (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France)
Jean-François COULOMBEL (Université Lille 1, France)
Marianna CSORNYEI (University College, London, UK)
Volker ELLING (University of Michigan, USA)
Alessio FIGALLI (University of Texas, USA)
Irena LASIECKA (University of Virginia, USA)
Aldo PRATELLI (Universita' di Pavia, Italy)

Karl-Theodore STURM (University of Bonn, Germany)
Laszlo SZEKELYHIDI (University of Bonn, Germany)
Roberto TRIGGIANI (University of Virginia, USA)
Michael WESTDICKENBERG (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA)
Zhouping XIN (Chinese University of Hong Kong)

The workshop on ``Modelling and Control of Nonlinear Evolution Equations''
will be held on May 24-27, 2011.

The conclusive conference ``Ninth Meeting on Hyperbolic Conservation
Laws, Fluid Dynamics and Transport Equations: Recent Results and
Research Perspectives'' will be held on July 18-22, 2011.

ORGANIZING AND SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE: G. Alberti (University of Pisa),
F. Ancona (University of Padova), S. Bianchini (SISSA-ISAS, Trieste), G.
Crippa (University of Parma), C. De Lellis (University of Zurich), A.
Marson (University of Padova), C. Mascia (University of Roma ``La
Sapienza'')
