Abstract:
De Giorgi's $\Gamma$-convergence is a variational theory modeled upon the convergence of families of (perturbed) minimum problems and of the corresponding minimizers.
In these notes, after reviewing briefly the basic theory and accounting for some recent new insights, we discuss three examples of static mechanical models, which can be analyzed by means of Γ-convergence arguments
