The conference Conference Calculus of Variations and applications will be held in CIRM from January 12th to January 16th 2026. The aim of the meeting is to bring together international experts in Calculus of Variations to discuss the most recent advances in the field, both on theoretical and more applied aspects. The main topics covered will include geometric measure theory, problems with free boundaries or free discontinuities, shape optimization, homogenization, and geometric analysis. Applications in solid mechanics, continuum mechanics, and data science will also be discussed. In addition to two 3h long mini-courses by G. De Philippis and A. RĂ¼land, invited talks will be given by J.F. Babadjian, D. Bucur, B. Buet, C. Dapogny, C. De Filippis, A. Garroni, A. Guerra, X. Lamy, F. Maggi (to be confirmed), R. Marziani, F. Otto, A. Pluda, F. Rindler, A. Skorogobatova, D. Stantejsky, M. Thorpe and B. Velichkov.

There is some available funding to cover the local expenses as well as the possibility to propose a contributed talk.
