As a part of the activities of the Research Group "Phase Space Analysis of Partial Differential Equations", on November 20 and 21, 2006 a workshop on "Microlocal Analysis and Applications to PDEs" will be held at the Centro di Ricerca Matematica "Ennio De Giorgi" in Pisa.

The workshop will focus on some topics which characterize the Phase Space Analysis: local solvability and subellipticity problems for scalar operators and for systems, estimates from below for vectorial operators, strong unique continuation problems, fluidodynamics, dispersion for the wave equation and uniqueness for the transport with non-smooth vector fields.

This workshop will try to bring together researchers in these fields, encouraging the exchange of ideas and providing an up to date description of the subject. During the meeting the most recent developments on these topics will be presented by some of the leading experts in the field, as well as by younger researchers.

Speakers: Luigi Ambrosio (Scuola Normale Superiore), Nils Dencker (Lund University), Isabelle Gallagher (Université Paris VII), Herbert Koch (Universitaet Bonn), Gilles Lebeau (Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis), Alberto Parmeggiani (Università di Bologna), Ludovico Pernazza (Università di Pavia).
