This is the conference of the SIAM Activity Group on Mathematical Aspects of Materials Science. Since 1994, the SIAM Activity Group on Mathematical Aspects of Materials Science has organized this conference, focusing on interdisciplinary approaches that bridge mathematical and computational methods to the science and engineering of materials. The conference provides a forum to highlight significant advances as well as critical or promising challenges in mathematics and materials science and engineering. In keeping with tradition, the conference seeks diversity in people, disciplines, methods, theory, and applications.
Included Themes:
Calculus of variations and partial differential equations Homogenization theory Image processing in materials Integral equations Inverse problems Machine learning and data science in materials Metamaterials, functional materials, and active materials Nonlinear elasticity and continuum mechanics Optical materials Pattern formation in materials science Phase transitions Quantum computing, quantum chemistry, and electronic structure Soft condensed matter Topological materials
Organizers: Carlos Garcia-Cervera, Anja Schlömerkemper.
