A five-day intensive meeting on Mathematics at the core of today’s Machine Learning research frontiers

The advanced school on Mathematical Foundations of Machine Learning - MFML2026 is an intensive meeting designed for graduate students, early-career researchers, and mathematically oriented practitioners interested in the rigorous ideas underlying modern machine learning.
Funded by INDAM, CIRM – Centro Internazionale per la Ricerca Matematica, and the ERC project Optimal Transport and Metric Structures for Evolution Problems, the school will take place in the mountain resort of Monte Bondone (Vason, Trento), at Hotel Montana, providing an ideal environment for focused scientific activity and interaction.

Lecturers:
Lénaïc Chizat (EPFL)
Nicolás García-Trillos (University of Wisconsin–Madison)
Guido Montúfar (UCLA -- MPI Leipzig)
Enrique Zuazua (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg)

Application:
Participation is free of charge, but application is required due to limited capacity.
The final deadline for all applications is March 1, 2026.
