Selection Notice for 5 Research Grants

The Mathematics Department Tullio Levi-Civita (DM) of the Padova University awards 5 Research Grants to support research projects in all areas of pure and applied mathematics and computer science.

Each Research Grant is for 12 months and it is renewable for one additional year. The salary is of 29.995 euro per year before taxes.

Candidates must have a PhD by the start of the Research Grant. The PhD must be obtained in a university other than the University of Padova and it must not have been earned before 2020. Candidates must not have had scholarships, grants or other types of collaborations with the University of Padova during the period 2020-2024.

The application may only be submitted by completing the online procedure available at \[ \textrm{https://pica.cineca.it/unipd/assegni-dm-2-2024/} \] from February 27, 2024 to April 29, 2024 at 1 pm. The application must include a copy of a valid form of identification, a CV showing the candidate’s academic and professional experience, qualifications and publications relevant for the selection notice, a research project, and finally, if the PhD has not yet been obtained, a letter from the University of affiliation confirming when the PhD degree will be awarded. Any reference in the research project to possible collaborations with researchers of the DM will be appreciated.

Candidates must contact two referees (not Faculty members of Padova University) and ask them to send a recommendation letter directly to the email address bgrant2024@math.unipd.it before April 29, 2024.

The evaluation will proceed in two steps. In a first assessment, the Selection Committee will indicate a short list based on the reference letters and on the research project. The candidates in the short list will be invited to an interview. In case of a tie, preference will be given to the less represented gender in the DM and, if not applicable, to younger candidates.
