Applications are invited for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cincinnati. We seek candidates in research areas such as, but not limited to, Mathematical Biology, Numerical Analysis, and Analysis.

The position will begin on August 15, 2023.

Essential Functions

Maintaining an active research program.
Mentoring graduate students.
Teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics.
Filling service roles for the university and mathematical community, such as participation in department and college committees, editorial work, and engagement with professional organizations.
The standard teaching load for research-active faculty is six credit hours (approximately two courses) per semester. New faculty receive a 25% teaching reduction and reduced service role in each of the first two years.

Minimum Requirements

The position requires a Ph.D. degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field. The degree must be awarded before August 15, 2023.
