Applications are invited for two Postdoc and one PhD-student positions, starting in October 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Postdoc appointments are for two years, the annual gross salary is approximately 55 kEURO. The PhD position is for three years, with a gross salary of approximately 31 kEURO. All positions come with no teaching duties.

The successful candidates will join the Research Group on Applied Mathematics and Modeling (Ulisse Stefanelli) at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna. The research focus of the Group is on calculus of variations and partial differential equations, often inspired by applications in continuum mechanics. Evolution equations, discrete systems, and stochastics are also of interest.

Applicants for the Postdoc and PhD-student position should have or be close to obtain a PhD or a Master, respectively, in Mathematics or Physics, as well as a strong background in calculus of variations or applied analysis.
