As a part of an effort to create an internationally renowned group in the mathematical sciences, OIST invites applications for a Visiting Professor in Pure Mathematics. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in mathematics and academic standing equivalent to Associate or Full Professor at a research-intensive university. The position has a flexible term of 4 to 8 months taken continuously between October 1, 2020 and May 31, 2021, with a flexible starting date. The appointment may be taken while on leave or sabbatical from another university, and comes with salary, housing, research funds and moving allowance. No teaching duties come with the positions. Each awardee has the opportunity to organize a mini-symposium funded and hosted by the institute. The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is a research institution with a Ph.D. program. It is beautifully situated on the tropical island of Okinawa, Japan.
