Applications are invited for one Postdoc and one PhD-student position starting in December 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Both appointments are limited to three years. The annual gross salaries are approximately 51 ke and 22 ke, respectively. The Postdoc position comes with a teaching load of max. 4h per week.

The successful candidates will join the Research Group on Applied Mathematics and Modeling led by Ulisse Stefanelli at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna. The research focus of the Group is on calculus of variations and partial differential equations, often inspired by applications in mechanics. Evolution equations, discrete systems, and stochastics are also of interest.

Applicants for the Postdoc and PhD-student position must have or be close to obtain a PhD or a Master, respectively, in Mathematics or Physics. A strong background in calculus of variations or applied analysis is required.
