A PhD and a two-year postdoctoral position are available in a field related to Partial Differential Equations, Calculus of Variations, and Geometric Measure Theory, with particular emphasis on free boundary problems, optimal transport, regularity theory of PDEs, fluid dynamics, transport equations with rough vector fields. The candidates are expected to work in the group of Prof. Maria Colombo and are expected to start in September 2018, with some flexibility. The email, with title "PhD Application" or "Postdoc Application", should include the following documents as pdf attachments:  1) CV with (possibly) list of publications; 2) for the PhD application: evaluations of university exams; 3) for the PhD application: current and future study project, including for instance a short description of the master thesis and research directions (max 3 pages); 4) for the postdoc application: research statement on current and planned research (max 6 pages). In addition, candidates should provide in the email the list of at most 3 referees, willing to write a letter of recommendation; a few candidates will then be requested to ask their referees to send a recommendation letter directly to maria.colombo@epfl.ch .
