Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Analysis and Probability

created by peletier on 10 Feb 2017

Deadline: 1 apr 2017

Eindhoven University of Technology is aiming to appoint a

Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Analysis and Probability

in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

The candidate will be jointly appointed in two groups: in CASA, the Center for Analysis, Scientific Computing, and Applications, and in STO, the Stochastics section. This is a new position, created specifically to bring together the communities of STO and CASA. The new appointee will be able to appoint a new PhD student, to work on a topic of her or his choice.

Because of the joint nature of the new position, candidates are invited who can bridge the gap between stochastics and analysis. Example research directions are interacting particle systems and their limits, stochastic homogenization, large deviations, stochastic-process limits for high-dimensional Markov processes, random graphs and stochastic approximation techniques.
