Tenure-Track Position

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a tenure-track position to begin September 1, 2017, in the area of probability, broadly construed.

Applications should be submitted by November 10, 2016 for full consideration.

The Department has strengths in mathematical finance, applied analysis, and combinatorics, and seeks outstanding candidates in the area of probability that would complement or enhance these or other centers of excellence within the Department or the University.

Preference will be given to candidates who have shown outstanding promise and/or excellent accomplishments in research in this area, and are pursuing a vigorous research program including major contributions beyond the doctoral dissertation. Promise of excellent ability to teach and mentor students of diverse backgrounds is a plus.
