This is the first announcement of the symposium "Boundary value problems and applications. The legacy of Enrico Magenes", which will be held in Pavia on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. The aim is to celebrate, with talks by worldwide scientific leaders, the memory of a pivotal figure in the development of the Italian school of applied mathematics. The speakers, representative of the tremendous progress achieved in the field in recent years, will disseminate their scientific advances in talks addressed to a broad audience.

Born in 1923, Enrico Magenes was an internationally recognised leader in the area of applied mathematics. With this symposium, the CNR-IMATI (now named after him) and the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pavia will honor the centennial of his birth in the broader framework of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the foundation of CNR.

Registration is free, but mandatory for organizational purposes, and can be completed through the conference website.
