Aims of the workshop:

Variational principles are ubiquitous in applications, and are strictly related to linear and nonlinear PDEs. For instance it is well-known that a large number of minimization principles may be used to represent stationary phenomena. In the last years new models emerged, that extend minimization principles to evolution equations.

The Workshop aims at bringing together experts in the field of variational modeling and methods for evolution PDEs and will be the occasion both for a comparison of different state-of-the-art perspectives and techniques and a fruitful cross-fertilization of ideas. Stage will be offered both to established and to perspective research leaders and poster contributions will also be welcomed.
