Applications are invited for *one Phd position*
starting on *October 1st, 2022* or as soon as possible thereafter. 

The appointment is for four years
and includes a teaching load (exercise sessions or tutoring) of approximately 4 hours per week.

The successful candidate will join the Research Group [Multiscale Calculus of Variations|https://www.asc.tuwien.ac.at/~multiscale/] led by [Elisa Davoli|https://www.asc.tuwien.ac.at/~edavoli/] at the Institute of Analysis and Scientific Computing of TU Wien in Vienna, Austria as a praedoc University Assistant.

Ideal candidates would have a strong background in calculus of variations, geometric measure theory, nonlinear evolution equations, or in applied analysis. 

A basic knowledge of German or the willingness to become proficient in German in a short time are a prerequisite, for a big portion of the teaching is expected to be in German.
