Deadline: Saturday, Jul 31, 2021

The Mathematical Institute of the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, seeks to appoint an

Assistant Professor
(salary level W2)

in the area of geometric non-linear partial differential equations.

The appointment is limited to five years. In exceptional cases, the position may be tenured.

The prospective candidate should strengthen and broaden our existing research groups in geometry and applied analysis by pursuing an own independent research program and engaging with these closely related groups.

The professorship will be directly connected to and supported by the Humboldt Professorship of Gustav Holzegel.

In addition, we expect the candidate to visibly contribute to developing and consolidating a strong branch in geometric partial differential equations within the local MSc program.

The prospective candidate will find excellent working conditions in a thriving research atmosphere and fully benefit from the research infrastructure of Mathematics Münster.

To be considered for this position, the candidate must have doctoral qualification in pure mathematics or a closely related area, as well as a strong track record in high-level research, including publications in internationally recognized journals commensurate with the academic age. A strong background in the analysis of Einstein’s equations and or geometric analysis is highly desirable. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level (again commensurate with the candidate’s academic age) is also highly desirable.

The University of Münster is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing the proportion of women in academics. Consequently, we actively encourage applications by women. Female candidates with equivalent qualifications and academic achievements will be preferentially considered within the framework of the legal possibilities.

The University of Münster is also committed to employing more staff with disabilities. Candidates with recognized severe disabilities who have equivalent qualifications are given preference in hiring decisions.

Applications should contain a cover letter, CV, list of publications, research plan related to the research of Mathematics Münster, and a teaching portfolio.

Please submit your application no later than *31 July 2021* in a single PDF file by email to
