Applications are invited for a PhD position in the Applied Mathematics and Modeling Group (Stefanelli) at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna.

The position is for three years, starting anytime before October 2020. The annual gross salary is approximately 31K€.  

The thesis project will focus on variational models and methods in Materials Science and evolution equations. Applicants must have or be close to obtain a Master in Mathematical Sciences. A strong background in calculus of variations or applied analysis is preferred. The position is associated with the enrollment in the PhD program in Mathematics at the University of Vienna.
