A post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) in Mathematical Modelling with emphasis
in Game Theory, specifically generalized Nash games (GNE) and their
applications, is available in the Department of Mathematics &
Statistics, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The PDF will be part of a
research team lead by Dr. M. Cojocaru. The PDF will work on developing
new theoretical results that enhance our understanding and our
computation abilities for classes of generalized Nash games, and they
will work on cutting edge research relating GNE with applications in
population health and environmental models. This position is for 1 year,
with the possibility of renewal for a second year, subject on
performance. Salary is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities
Exploring new results relating generalized Nash games, equilibrium
problems, evolutionary stable states and Nash equilibria selection
questions; Building, coding and analyzing generalized Nash game
theoretic models applied to population health problems and/or
environmental problems; Writing peer-reviewed publications and
reports; Conference, seminar and workshop participation. Requirements
PhD in mathematics or applied mathematics (optimization, game theory,
variational analysis, equilibrium problems etc., mathematical biology)
or a closely related discipline (Physics, Engineering or Computer
Science), with a strong interest in both theoretical and applied
research. Advanced programming expertise in at least one of Matlab,
R, Python; The sense of urgency necessary to meet goals, objectives,
and deadlines Strong multi-tasking and organizational abilities
Applications should be sent via email to: mcojocar at uoguelph.ca Dr.
Monica G. Cojocaru, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, University
of Guelph. An application should include a curriculum vitae including a
list of publications, a research summary (with links to most related
papers on the topics above) and the names and details of three referees.
Review of applications will begin March 15, 2018 and continue until the
position is filled.

2- Two positions in Optimisation, Ecole Polytechnique
(source : S. Gaubert)
ONE FULL-TIME ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN MATHEMATICAL MODELING AND
OPTIMIZATION
Submission deadline: 31 Mar 2018 midnight Paris time (GMT+1)
https://de.polytechnique.fr/candidatures/Index.cfm?Type=Professeur
Position Start Date: 01 Sep 2018
The Applied Mathematics Department at Ecole Polytechnique Polytechnique
invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor
(tenured) level in Mathematical Modeling and Optimization.
Applicants should be excellent young applied mathematicians with a solid
research experience in mathematical modeling, numerical simulation of
partial differential equations and optimization. The hired assistant
professor will teach numerical analysis and optimization in the Applied
Mathematics Department and will conduct his-her research in one of the
teams of the Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées (CMAP) of Ecole
Polytechnique. Some familiarity with shape optimization or PDE
constrained optimization would be an additional asset.
Ecole Polytechnique offers an attractive environment and a genuine
support at the scientific, administrative, and Financial levels, thus
providing all ingredients for the preparation of the «Habilitation à
Diriger des Recherches».

Department (gregoire.allaire at polytechnique.fr).
ONE PART-TIME POSITION (PROFESSEUR CHARGÉ DE COURS OR MAÎTRE DE
CONFÉRENCES) IN OPTIMIZATION
Submission Deadline: 31 Mar 2018 midnight Paris time (GMT+1)
https://de.polytechnique.fr/candidatures/Index.cfm?Type=Professeur
Position Start Date: 01 Sep 2018
The Applied Mathematics Department at Ecole Polytechnique invites
applications for a part-time faculty position at the Professeur Chargé
de cours level (equivalent to Associate Professor) or Maître de
Conférences level (equivalent to Assistant Professor) in Optimization.
Applicants should be excellent applied mathematicians with an
international recognition of their research in optimization. Candidates
will be hired at a level corresponding to their experience. Thus, for a
Professeur Chargé de cours position the Habilitation à Diriger des
Recherches (or an equivalent scientific level) is required. The hired
person will mostly teach optimization and operations research in the
Applied Mathematics Department. She or he should be able to propose and
supervise research projects for students in these fields. Her or his
ability to interact in the multidisciplinary environment of the Applied
Mathematics Department, for example by participating in other courses
(numerical analysis, control, probability, statistics) including an
optimization part, will be an asset. In agreement with her/his principal
employer (CNRS, INRIA, industry, etc.) the applicant could conduct all
or part of her/his research at the Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées of
Ecole Polytechnique.
Applications comprising such a research component will be considered in
priority. Some help for hosting her/his research team can be arranged.
