*“**A characterization of spherical multipliers on homogeneous trees**”*





*Abstract:*

*We characterise, for each p in (1,∞) **∖**{2}, the class of Lp spherical
multipliers on homogeneous trees in terms of Lp Fourier multipliers on the
torus.  This extends previous work of M. Cowling, S. Meda and A.G. Setti
for homogeneous trees, and is related with the work of A.D. Ionescu on
noncompact symmetric spaces. The talk is based on joint work with Dario
Celotto and Stefano Meda.*
