*“* *Geodesics on the hyperbolic plane and continued fractions**”*





*Abstract:*

*We will present the connection, already known to Artin, between continued
fractions and geodesics of the hyperbolic plane, showing how to recover in
this setting some classical results. In particular, we will focus on the
work of Curtis McMullen about continued fractions of quadratic irrational
numbers with small partial quotients and we will discuss a polynomial
analogue to McMullen’s conjecture.*
