*“ Collective dynamics in networks of oscillators”*





*Abstract:*

*Coupled (neural) oscillators may give rise to a very complex** collective
dynamics where an irregular microscopic behavior of the single units is
accompanied by a macrosocpic structured dynamics. This may even happen in
setups where the microscopic dynamics is linerarly stable (negative
Lyapunov exponents). These results show how complex can the connection
between different scales be and challenge the approaches typically invoked
to derive mean field equations.*
