Communications Technology (ICT) Research Centre of Excellence. Our

Applications are invited for researcher positions within the
Optimisation Research Group, to work with Sylvie Thiebaux and Pascal

Un poste de Ma�tre de Conf�rence en Informatique (Section 27) avec comme
profil
prioritaire l'Optimisation Combinatoire sera ouvert au concours en 2012
au Laboratoire
d'informatique Fondamentale de l'Universit� d'Aix-Marseille.
Les th�mes prioritaires en recherche sont ceux d�velopp�s au sein de
l'�quipe ACRO
du LIF en Optimisation Combinatoire: programmation lin�aire et
non-lin�aire en nombres
entiers, m�trique et algorithmique des graphes et r�seaux, complexit�,
applications � la
Recherche Op�rationnelle.
Le candidat retenu interviendra dans les formations en informatique
propos�es par le
d�partement Informatique de la Facult� des Sciences.
La majorit� des recherches men�es au LIF rel�vent de l'Informatique
Fondamentale.
Cependant, dans chacune des �quipes du laboratoire, des projets plus
technologiques
sont d�velopp�s en collaboration avec des partenaires industriels. La
capacit� d'un
candidat � enrichir la dimension technologique des recherches men�es au
laboratoire
sera consid�r�e avec int�r�t.
Bien que le profil prioritaire de ce poste concerne l'�quipe ACRO et
tout particuli�rement
le th�me "Optimisation Combinatoire", le poste pourra �tre attribu�
� un
candidat ayant
un excellent dossier scientifique sur des th�mes d�velopp�s dans les
autres �quipe du LIF.

on Semidefinite, Conic and Polynomial Optimization (2012)

Semidefinite and conic optimization is a major and thriving research
area within the optimization community. Although semidefinite
optimization has been studied (under different names) since at least
the 1940s, its importance grew immensely during the 1990s after
polynomial-time interior-point methods for linear optimization were
extended to solve semidefinite optimization problems.
Since the beginning of the 21st century, not only has research into
semidefinite and conic optimization continued unabated, but also a
fruitful interaction has developed with algebraic geometry through the
close connections between semidefinite matrices and polynomial
optimization. This has brought about important new results and led to
an even higher level of research activity.
This Handbook on Semidefinite, Conic and Polynomial Optimization
provides the reader with a snapshot of the state-of-the-art in the
growing and mutually enriching areas of semidefinite optimization,
conic optimization, and polynomial optimization. It contains a
compendium of the recent research activity that has taken place in
