=============================================================================
SUMMER SCHOOL "OPTIMAL CONTROL OF PDEs"
     Cortona (Italy), July 12-17,2010

The school is organized by SMI-INDAM and sponsored by the ESF Network
"Optimization with PDE constraints. It will be hosted in the Palazzone at
Cortona, a medioeval town in Tuscany, from the 12th to the 17th of July,
2010.

There will be four courses, given by leading scientists in the field:

Introduction to the control of PDEs, J. Sprekels (WIAS, Berlin)

Numerical Methods for Optimal Control, R. Hoppe (Augsburg and Houston
University)

Model Reduction Methods, M. Grepl (Aachen) e G. Rozza (EPFL)

Shape Optimization, F. Jouvre (Paris 7)

The school is mainly devoted to PhD students, post-docs and young
researchers
who would like to approach the field of optimal control for PDEs. The main

emphasis of the school will be on effective methods and numerical
techniques
for applications.
The number of participants is limited to 40 students, so it is absolutely
necessary to apply.

Young researchers can also apply for a financial support writing to
cortona10 at mat.uniroma1.it
and sending a detailed CV and at least one reccommendation letter.

More details can be found on the WEB page:

Deadlines
for funding requests: March 31, 2010
for applications : March 31, 2010

The school will send and answer to the applicants by April 30, 2010
