Subject: Euler Conference: young participants (reminder)

Dear Colleagues,
This message to remind you that applications for young scientists to
participate in the Conference EE250 "Euler Equations:
250 Years On" are open since November 15 (cf. www.obs-nice.fr/etc7/EE250/ ).
Although applications can be submitted until December 20, it is advisable
to do so as early as possible to avoid swamping the relevant experts at
the last moment. Early applications will thus be given closer attention.
The details of the application procedure are given on the web pages of
the Conference.

Let me remind you that the plan is to invite a limited number (40-45) of
young scientists whose local expenses will be covered. Some support for
travel expenses is also possible for needy young participants.

There will be a relatively small number of lectures, most of them
intended for a very diverse audience and much time will be devoted to
discussions. The selected young scientists will also have a chance to
present their work during poster presentations (posters will remain on
display throughout the Conference). All the participants can submit
a paper for the Proceedings which will appear as a special fully-refereed
issue of Physica D.

Graduate students, postdocs and even young faculty members are
particularly encouraged to apply. The selection will be done by the
Scientific Committee, based on the material submitted by applicants
(mostly a 2-page PDF abstract). The Committee intends to evaluate
not only the scientific merits of the abstract but the benefits the
applicant can expect from interacting with other participants, junior
or senior.

Please circulate this message among potential candidates and do not hesitate
to forward it to colleagues.

Uriel Frisch, Chair EE250
