Dear All,
I am glad to introduce the next CVGMT seminar,
that will be held by
. Franco Flandoli, Pisa University,
. on Thursday, 23 March
. in ``Sala dei Seminari'' of the Mathematics Department
. at 17:30, with
TITLE: Some open problems on stochastic Navier-Stokes equations
ABSTRACT: Well posedness of the deterministic 3D Navier-Stokes equations
is a well known open problem. There is some hope to make progresses in the
case of white noise perturbered 3D Navier-Stokes equations. The hope comes
generically from the stronger results of uniqueness for finite dimensional
stochastic differential equations (with respect to their deterministic
counterparts), and specifically from recent results, about strictly
stochastic 3D Navier-Stokes equations, on the existence of selections with
continuous dependence on initial conditions. The talk will review these
ideas.
