"Recent Advances in Homogenization"
Roma, May 23-27, 2005
INdAM - Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica Francesco Severi
The workshop is part of a new series sponsored by INdAM with the
general aim of proposing to a selected audience of young researchers
the state of the art in active and high impact areas of mathematics.
The goal is to present in a complete way recent advances in the theory
of homogenization with emphasis to random environments, as well as to
promote informal discussions among the participants.
The workshop consists of some mini-courses and a number of short
communications.
At the moment, M. Bardi (Padova), A. Braides (Roma Tor Vergata), L.
Caffarelli (Austin), P.-L. Lions (Collège de France) and P. Souganidis
(Austin) have agreed to participate and give a number of lectures
(mini-courses).
The other participants, up to 20 people, will be selected by the
Scientific Coordinators. Priority will be given to young researchers
with scientific interest in the area. The selected participants will
receive financial support by INdAM. In addition, a limited number of
further participants, supported by institutions other than INdAM, will
be welcome.
Applications, which should include a CV and a recommendation letter,
must be sent in pdf form to the Scientific Coordinators before January
15, 2005.
