OPTIMAL TRANSPORT THEORY AND APPLICATIONS
Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa
October 9-12, 2003

Mass transportation problems revealed to be a very fruitful topic in the
last years, both for the theoretical results obtained as well as for the
large number of applications that have been found. This international
conference aims to bring together some of the most active specialists in
the field to illustrate the state of the art in mass transportation
theory and some new directions of research.

The preliminary list of invited speakers includes:

Bangert, Brenier, Bouchitt\'e, Carrillo, Cardaliaguet, Carlier, Carlen,
Caselles, Cordero-Erausquin, Cullen, Feldman, Gangbo, Savar\`e,
Seppecher, 
Solimini, Otto, Trudinger, Wang.

We are also planning to have one afternoon session devoted to short talks.

No registration fees are required; however we ask everybody interested
to participate to fill in by September 15 the registration form
available on
