\centerline{\bf Goals and scope}
\medskip
The main prupose of this workshop is to provide a panoramic view of
several relevant problems in Applied Mathematics, still not completely
solved, that will provide motivation for future research in this
area.
We intend to cover theoretical and analytical
aspects and also other subjects, related to the modeling, numerical
and computational
viewpoints.
Accordingly, highly qualified
experts in a wide set of topics have been put together.
The workshop is especially oriented to young
researchers with a basic background in Mathematics, Physics or
Engineering.
Due to the interest and variety of topics and the scientific level of
the speakers, this workshop can also be useful to senior researchers.
