Abstract.

The first part of this seminar will be concerned with an issue of strict interior approximation for sets of finite perimeter and functions of bounded variation. Then, I will turn to extremality relations between BV-minimizers of variational integrals and dual solutions in the sense of convex analysis. Finally, I am planning to make connections to uniqueness and regularity results for these minimizers. The presented results are based on joint works with Lisa Beck.
